Back in black

Yea…I really need to get back to blogging. I’ve been so busy with school and at the same time discovering all this new cool stuff that I want to share. It’s been so long since I’ve posted that I forget how to use this site – need to mess around some. I’m also thinking of changing my blog name and style…

Anyway – I’ve been completely obsessed with glaze chemistry and watermedia. I think about color all the time. One of my most recent inspirations is the work of Gwendolyn Yoppolo. I’m trying to develop some microcrystalline glazes that are soft yet juicy…

Bread dipped in olive oil and salt,
a glass of rough dry white.

A table beside the evening sea
where you sit shelling pistachios,
flicking the next open with the half-
shell of the last, story opening story,
on down to the sandy end of time.

The stars coming out on the life that I call mine

“Making your unknown known is the important thing.”

“Where I was born and where and how I have lived is unimportant. It is what I have done with where I have been that should be of interest.”

“Now and then when I get an idea for a picture, I think, how ordinary. Why paint that old rock? Why not go for a walk instead? But then I realise that to someone else it may not seem so ordinary.”

“I don’t see why we ever think of what others think of what we do — no matter who they are. Isn’t it enough just to express yourself?”

“The days you work are the best days.”

Got some time on your hands in front of the computer?  Check out Spaced … I love this show.  I’m so bummed it was only on for two seasons.   Watch it here.
